Why It’s Hot: Jason Aaron and Ed McGuinness were tasked with bringing back one of the most popular X-Men characters of all time and within the first few pages of the first issue it was clear that they passed the test with flying colors. Amazing X-Men #1 was hands down one of the best single issues of 2013 and with the wild ride just beginning there’s no reason to think that a creative team of this caliber won’t get better issue after issue.

Why It’s Hot: The first issue of Velvet was everything one would want from a Brubaker/Epting creator owned book. You had a gritty look into the world of international espionage, murder, with a strong central character. With the action picking up at the end of the first issue, I can’t help but think that we will get more and more of what we want in issue two!
