STK614525RED SONJA #1
Written by Gail Simone
Art by Walter Geovani

Published by Dynamite Entertainment — $3.99

THIS IS IT.  Red Sonja gets a fresh new attitude by the dream team of writer GAIL SIMONE (Batgirl, Birds of Prey) and artist WALTER GEOVANI (Prophecy, Witchblade), on the book they were born to create.  Sonja pays back a blood debt owed to the one man who has gained her respect, even if it means leading a doomed army to their certain deaths!

This thrilling new series features covers by the top female artists in the industry, including Nicola Scott, Colleen Doran, Jenny Frison, Fiona Staples, Amanda Conner and more.  You do NOT want to miss this re-introduction the She-devil with a Sword!

Why It’s Hot: Take one of the most classic female characters in comics and add in a writer who’s known for making classic female characters shine and you have a guaranteed success! Word on the street is that the first issue has already sold out at the distributor level and is going back to print, a fairly rare occurrence for pulp-style publisher Dynamite. Comicosity spoke with Gail Simone about the series and it got us super-excited to say the least! Don’t miss out!

Take a Sneak Peek.

STK614165DAY MEN #1
Written by Matt Gagnon and Michael Alan Nelson
Art by Brian Stelfreeze

Published by Boom! Studios — $3.99

For thousands of years, the world has been controlled by the “50 Families” a secret network of vampire covens engaged in timeless contests of power. But when the sun rises, the vampires are forced to employ the services of a human who acts as their daytime fixer…Trained for centuries to be the mortal soldiers employers, the Day Men go forth at sunrise, alone into the world, to do the bidding of their sleeping benefactors.

Written by Matt Gagnon (FREELANCERS) & Michael Alan Nelson (SUPERGIRL, HEXED) and drawn by industry legend Brian Stelfreeze, DAY MEN is a sexy, actionpacked epic perfect for fans of AMERICAN VAMPIRE and TRUE BLOOD!

Why It’s Hot: Brian Stelfreeze returning to monthly comics? Sign me up!!! Vampires are quite the hot commodity these days, but those other books aren’t drawn by Stelfreeze. That puts this title launch in the hot territory, no question.

“TRINITY WAR” part 2!

Why It’s Hot: Trinity War launched last week to huge praise and excitement, and the story continues here. With the large number of threads laid out and beginning to tie together in Justice League #22, DC fans should be lining up outside their stores just about now to get the second installment and see what fallout occurs from the searing end to last issue’s story!

STK614498BATMAN 66 #1
Written by Jeff Parker
Art by Jonathan Case

Published by DC Comics — $3.99

Put on your go-go boots and get ready to “Batusi” back to the Swingin’ 60s as DC Comics reimagines the classic Batman TV series in comics form for the first time! These all-new stories portray The Caped Crusader, The Boy Wonder and their fiendish rogues gallery just the way viewers remember them. In this first adventure, The Riddler’s out to steal some valuable artwork from under the noses of Gotham’s police. But Batman gets help from an unlikely source: a certain femme fatale dressed in feline finery!

Why It’s Hot: Between this title and Batman: Li’l Gotham, DC is finally putting together some titles to please both adults and kids alike with their premier character at the helm. Batman 66 was a delight to read digitally, and I’m fairly certain it will be the same on paper. Relive your childhood while you share with someone living theirs! You’ll be glad you did!

SUPERIOR CARNAGE #1
Written by Keith Schinick
Art by Stephen Segovia

Published by Marvel Comics — $3.99

SUPERIOR SPIDER-MONTH GETS SINISTER WITH THE RETURN OF CARNAGE!
•  LOCKED AWAY IN AN ASYLUM, IT LOOKS LIKE CARNAGE IS GONE FOR GOOD-BUT HIS FELLOW INMATES HAVE OTHER PLANS…
•  WILL THEY SUCCESSFULLY WAKE THE MONSTER?
•  OR WILL THIS HIDEOUS EXPERIMENT CREATE THE MSOT POWERFUL, DANGEROUS, MANIACAL CARNAGE YET… A SUPERIOR CARNAGE?
•  KEVIN SHINICK (Avenging Spider-Man, Robot Chicken) and STEPHEN SEGOVIA (Extreme X-men, Thor) come together to create a story so grotesquely gratifying you wont be able to look away!

Why It’s Hot: It’s not enough to be Spectacular these days, you have to be Superior! The return of Carnage, a huge fan favorite, is enough to raise this launch to the level of HOT, but it’s also coming on a wave of huge success in the Spider-Man office. Everything coming out of these seems to be burning up the charts. Hopefully this mini will have the same effect.
