With the direction of the book altered by the aforementioned event, this issue looks to be a perfect jumping on point for readers both looking for an in to the X-books and wanting to get up to speed before the impending crossover with Guardians of the Galaxy.
BATMAN: ZERO YEAR reaches a new level as The Riddler sends Gotham City into total darkness! “Dark City” begins in this issue that features an embossed cover.
Why It’s Hot: Batman has consistently been one of DC’s best comics over the past two years, and the creative team of Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo seem to have no intention of slowing down anytime soon. With the threat of the Red Hood Gang seemingly vanquished, Batman has no time to rest as Gotham City has been plunged into complete darkness. As Zero Year continues, Dark City begins. How will an inexperienced Batman save his city and it’s people while matching wits with his most cunning adversary?

Why It’s Hot: Over the past year and a half, the team at Valiant Comics have worked tirelessly to create a superhero universe not only as an alternative for those that may have grown weary of the “Big Two” but also one that stands on its own with an attention to detail and world building. After a meticulous rollout of books featuring some of the best creators working on some of the most unique concepts in superhero comics, it is now time for Valiant’s first superhero team. If you haven’t jumped aboard the Valiant Universe hype train, that time is now, as budding superstar Matt Kindt and artist Doug Braithwaite bring Ninjak, Eternal Warrior, and Toyo Harada’s Harbringers together to take on X-O Manowar in what promises to be Valiant’s biggest, most explosive comic yet!
