Written by Roberto Aguirre Sacasa
Art by Francesco Francavilla
Published by Archie Comics – $2.99

NEW ONGOING SERIES! The end of the world is here… The horror continues as a zombified Jughead goes on a relentless hunt for brains in this shocking new series by Harvey Award-winning comic/screenwriter Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (Stephen King’s Carrie, Archie meets Glee) and Eisner-winning artist Francesco Francavilla (Batman, Black Beetle). When he performs a despicable and frightening act in front of everyone at the Halloween dance, tensions start to rise and fears begin to mount — who will be next to join Jughead in the Afterlife? And what about those who are already infected? Be warned, kiddies, this one’s not for the faint of heart! For TEEN+ readers.

Why It’s Hot: The zombie apocalypse hitting Riverdale? An Archie book drawn by the great Francesco Francavilla? If you are asking yourself “what the heck!?” just know that the idea may seem absolutely crazy but the end result was brilliant, as the first issue was one of the best comics to hit the stands last month. Readers can expect the mayhem to continue as some of the most beloved comic characters are seen like never before! Oh yeah, did I mention Francesco Francavilla on art?

• Thanos takes center stage

Why It’s Hot: Infinity enters the home stretch, as the space bound Avengers return home to face the threat that is Thanos and his Black Order. The end is near for one of the best Marvel events in recent memory, so make sure to pick up this issue as the stage is set for the grand finale that will be Infinity #6

Batwoman #25BATWOMAN #25
Written by Marc Andreyko
Art by Trevor McCarthy
Published by DC Comics – $3.99

ZERO YEAR TIE-IN: Kate Kane is called home to attend a family funeral. But when an electrical storm creates havoc for the people of Gotham City, an inexperienced Kate can’t deny her duty to protect the innocent!

Why It’s Hot: As Batman is embroiled in the ongoing events of Zero Year, the rest of the writers working on the Bat-books (and even some working on books in other lines) have been given the latitude to tie-in to the story as they see fit. The results have been astounding so far, and this week Batwoman looks to continue the trend, as new writer Marc Andreyko takes the reins. After the controversy that erupted as a result of how the last writers left the book, DC made the best possible choice in their replacement. Not only is Andreyko an openly gay man writing comic’s most prominent homosexual character, but anybody that knows him from his previous work on titles such as Manhunter knows that he writes female characters superbly. Quite frankly, Kate Kane and her supporting cast couldn’t be in better hands!

that batwoman cover is gorgeous. It won’t be hitting the stands, right? It’s a leftover from the unfinished williams/blackman series.
