Written by Charles Soule
Art by Steve McNiven
Published by Marvel Comics – $4.99

• THE DEATH OF WOLVERINE!

• THREE MONTHS TO DIE, the loss of Wolverine’s healing factor–all led to this, the single most important X-Men event of the decade.

• Logan has spent over a century being the best there is at what he does…but even the best fade away eventually.

• Over the years, Logan has been a warrior, a hero, a renegade, a samurai, a teacher—and so much more. But now, the greatest X-Men hero will play a role he’s never played before in this special event brought to you by industry superstars Charles Soule and Steve McNiven.

Why It’s Hot: Spoiler Alert: Wolverine dies. The end is here for arguably the most popular character in the entire Marvel Comics lineup. For years Wolverine was everywhere. He was a member of the X-Men, he had finally joined the Avengers, and he’d show up to boost the sales of a struggling book. The industry had reached peak Wolverine saturation, but after this week only his legacy will carry on for the foreseeable future. In most cases a series like this would be seen as a purely commercial driven stunt, as we all know that death in comics rarely sticks and it’s hard to believe that Marvel will keep one of their biggest characters sidelined for too long. However, the work that Charles Soule and Steve McNiven have delivered in the first three issues have helped alieviate these concerns. The comic is a love letter to the character, and is just really really good. How will it end for James Howlett? Pick up the issue on Wednesday and find out!

Offering shocks, surprises, and timestream-shaking revelations, don’t miss your chance to get on board this amazing ongoing series!

Why It’s Hot: Peter Capaldi has only been in the role of the 12th Doctor for eight episodes, but it’s time for the newest incarnation of the classic character to make his comic book debut! Comic books have always played an important role in the Doctor Who franchise, and Titan Comics has done a stellar job with the license over the past few months. The two ongoing series featuring the 10th and 11th Doctors have been fit between the cracks of the show’s continuity, and have provided fun, high quality issues with versions of The Doctor that fans loved. The fact is that fans don’t know very much about twelve when compared to ten and eleven. This means that the creative team of Robbie Morrison and Dave Taylor are tasked with the vital role of telling exciting stories while exploring this new take on the character as fans to continue to get to know him. Because of this, this new ongoing series becomes a must read for Doctor Who fans all over the world.

SleepyH1SLEEPY HOLLOW #1
Written by Marguerite Bennett
Art by Jorge Coelho
Published by BOOM Studios – $3.99

WHY WE LOVE IT: As fans of the SLEEPY HOLLOW television series (now entering its second season on Fox), we knew we had to make a comic just as haunting, engaging and visually gorgeous as the show itself. Featuring multi-layered characters, intense visuals, and creepy storylines, SLEEPY HOLLOW is primed for comics. Not only that, but

WHY YOU’LL LOVE IT: One of the most exciting young writers working today, Scott Snyder protégé Marguerite Bennett is currently writing Archaia’s BUTTERFLY and has worked on DC’s LOBO, SUPERMAN: LOIS LANE, and BATMAN: JOKER’S DAUGHTER. Even if you don’t watch the show, SLEEPY HOLLOW is perfect for fans of SUPERNATURAL. Includes all-new back-up stories from Noelle Stevenson (LUMBERJANES).

WHAT IT’S ABOUT: After dying on the battlefield during the Revolutionary War, Ichabod Crane awakes in present-day Sleepy Hollow, New York. His resurrection is tied to the reappearance of the Headless Horseman, one of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Realizing it is his mission to help stop the end of the world, Ichabod teams with Lt. Abbie Mills to meet each evil threat head-on. When minor miracles start to sweep the town, they’re glad something good seems to be happening for once. No decapitations, no headless horseman, no worries, right? But as one by one the miracles start to backfire, more and more violently, Abbie and Ichabod must find time between saving the world to save the citizens of Sleepy Hollow…

Why It’s Hot: One of the fastest rising talents in comics in Marguerite Bennett is tackling the comic book version of one of the most fun, scary, clever, diverse television properties to come around in years. Sleepy Hollow has been praised by fans and critics alike for bringing something different to our television screens each and every week. If any show’s universe was ripe for a comic book it’s Sleepy Hollow. Whether it’s the crazy historical fiction or one of the most diverse cast of characters in any form of fiction, this comic book has the potential to be a major crossover hit for both existing fans, and readers that have never seen an episode.
