Why It’s Hot: The first one-shot tying into Dark Nights: Metal sees the light of day, as The Flash creative team of Joshua Williamson and Carmine Di Giandomenico tell the story of what happens when a Batman goes after the Speed Force. If you weren’t sold on the Dark Batmen premise, you might change your mind after reading the quality work put forth in this issue.

G.I. JOE: FIRST STRIKE #1

Why It’s Hot: The next Hasbro/IDW event is here, as the First Strike crossover spectacular gets going  as G.I. Joe writer Aubrey Sitterson, and artist Illas Kyriazis launch the first of several one shots leading to the new First Strike series later this month.

GENERATIONS: MS. MARVEL & MS. MARVEL #1

• Ms. Marvel’s falling out with her idol Carol Danvers, a.k.a. the Mighty Captain Marvel, just took a BIZARRE turn!

Why It’s Hot: The Generations  one shots have continued to be among the best single issues coming from Marvel over the past few months. The trend looks to continue as Ms. Marvel writer and Kamala Khan creator G. Willow Wilson takes the character back to meet the original Ms. Marvel for the first time. We know that Kamala has looked up to her, but what will she learn about being Ms. Marvel from a younger Carol Danvers? This is sure to be one of the more intriguing issues of the Generations project.

WONDER WOMAN/CONAN #1

Well, GAIL SIMONE IS WRITING WONDER WOMAN AGAIN. She is joined by her former Wonder Woman collaborator Aaron Lopresti. Not to be lost in the shuffle, after her run on Red Sonja, the fan favorite scribe’s take on Conan is yet another reason to get excited.

WORLD OF ANIMOSITY #1
