•  CAPTAIN AMERICA AND BUCKY are ready to lead the HOWLING COMMANDOS, but are the HOWLING COMMANDOS ready to follow?
•  Things go from bad to worse and only Bucky can save the day!
•  Will a shocking appearance from an old ally turn the tide of battle?

Why It’s Hot: The first issue of Captain America: White was literally years in the making, and it didn’t disappoint. Anybody worried that time would negatively effect one of the best creative duos in history needn’t be, as Loeb and Sale’s latest “Color” book is everything fans were hoping it would be.

Darkseid versus Anti-Monitor! A corrupted Superman versus Lex Luthor! Myrina Black versus Grail! This chapter of “Darkseid War” has it all-plus an ending that will change the League forever!

Why It’s Hot: Comic books don’t get much better than what Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok have been doing in the pages of Justice League. This month Darkseid War sees Darkseid vs. The Anti-Monitor with the Justice League stuck in the middle. DC’s flagship title turns the epic up to eleven.

S.H.I.E.L.D. #10
Written by Mark Waid

Published by Marvel Comics – $3.99

• Howard the Duck side by side with SHIELD! Why a duck? Because Coulson knows a secret about Howard that could save the multiverse!

Why It’s Hot: A little television show called Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. makes its season three premiere tonight. What perfect timing for the latest issue of the comic inspired by the show (It says so right on the cover!) to come out. Oh who am I kidding? Agent Coulson coming face to face with Howard The Duck under the creative team of Waid and Shaner would be great no matter what was happening over in TV land.

The final issue of the Eisner Award-nominated series is a sweep of science fictional beauty and madness. Featuring cameos by some of Morpheus’s favorite siblings, the grand finale of OVERTURE dovetails into the start of The Sandman’s first journey, providing new insight into THE SANDMAN VOL. 1: PRELUDES AND NOCTURNES.

Why It’s Hot: Sandman Overture comes to an end. The series may have been delayed multiple times throughout its run, but it has never been short of brilliant. Two of the most talented creators pouring their heart and soul into one of the most beautiful comics we’ve seen in years is the epitome of what “Hot” comic should be.

They saved the world two years ago, but when a new, monstrous threat arises, can they put aside their differences and become a team again? Hopefully they can; otherwise team leader Emma, who’s been infected by an evil magical force, is a goner! Will the Zodiac Starforce reunite and enter the dark realm of Nephos to save their captain, or will a fierce rivalry on the volleyball court tear them apart?

Why It’s Hot: Zodiac Starforce features an up and coming creative team putting out an extremely fun comic for readers of all ages starring awesome female characters. There are only a few books that fit this description, and they deserve to be cherished.
