J’onn J’onzz always said he was the last of his kind. He lied. When Mars launches a full-scale invasion of Earth, the Manhunter will have to decide where his loyalties lie.

The elusive and mysterious Martian Manhunter goes under the microscope in his own series soon, and Rob Williams and Eddy Barrows craft a solid teaser for the series with these 8 pages. The preview serves as a good introduction to the character for those who may not be familiar with J’onn J’onzz, and plants seeds of quite the mystery to come. J’onn is a heavy hitter and Williams and Barrows capture that well.

There’s something not right on the moon, which pushes forward the larger upcoming story, which could be a doozy. I’ve always been partial to the Manhunter, I find his brooding grumpiness to be a good time, and if you’re like me, this is definitely something you want to check out. The art was great, the writing was solid and I think this is going to be some good ol’ martian fun.

The Verdict: PULL LIST
