A de-powered and injured Man of Steel looks to re-energize himself by plunging into the sun. Wonder Woman is there to stop him.

Well, if you want to hook me into reading more about a relationship about the most powerful pair of heroes in the DCU, this is how you do it. Superman’s new status quo has changed the game for him, somewhat and it would appear we are not looking at the Clark Kent we’ve known for such a long time. He’s got edge, and Tomasi laces his voice with frustration, anger, and some rage. His voice for Diana is strong in this 8-pager, and when the two are on the page together, sparks fly.

Paulo Siqueira’s art is solid and he pencils Clark’s power very well. This artwork fits the tone of the series to this point very well, and these are 8 good-lookin’ pages.

While I had been waffling on the Superman/Wonder Woman book, I think the strength of these 8 pages is enough to draw me back in to see what is going on. There’s trouble on the horizon for the most powerful couple in comics, and Tomasi and Siqueira got my attention, that’s for sure.

The Verdict: TRY IT
