Peter Bagge returns with his first new work (that isn’t Hate) in quite a while. There isn’t a Bradley to be seen, but there is still plenty of anger going around to make you want to pick up this book. This story feels like a response to the reality television / b-list celebrity craze we are currently experiencing.

This comic book is a lot of fun. Peter Bagge’s outlook on the world hasn’t changed much in the last twenty years, and his characters reflect that. The primary difference between then and now, is that the main characters just happen to be older. He is working out of his comfort zone story-wise here, but it is very well plotted, and seems to have a great direction.

Bagge’s distinctive art style is in full force here. There are plenty of scowling faces and noodle arms. Every panel has so much going on, that it takes twice the time to read the comic just to make sure you get the full impact of his art. His style has always suited his caustic brand of humor.

For fans of Peter Bagge, this will be a great moment, another chance to enjoy the work of a true master of underground comics. For those who don’t enjoy his work, then this will be more of the same to them. I, am of the former, and can’t wait to get my noodle-armed hands on issue two.

Verdict: 8.5/10
