Welcome to #TenTweetsThursday, our weekly question-and-answer with one comic fan or pro from the world of twitter. This week feature J. Skyler (@jskylerinc), a writer for both Comic Book Bin & The Examiner. Check out what J. had to say about the infamous Ten Tweets!
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
It was actually the manga Sailor Moon. The first American comic was Birds of Prey #56.
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Without a doubt Barbara Gordon (Batgirl/Oracle) and Supergirl (Kara Zor-El).
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
Thus far I would have to say Birds of Prey: Of Like Minds by Gail Simone.
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
Usually i read print but lately ive been collecting digital copies for convenience.
#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?
Actually all my titles are mainstream: Batman, Batgirl, Batwoman, Aquaman, Supergirl. Looking forward to the X-MEN relaunch.
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
Gail Simone, Scott Snyder, Jeph Loeb. Total brilliance.
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
Unfortunately, i haven’t gotten around to collectables but I’d have to say action figures.
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
I follow DC almost exclusively but that’s because i love thier characters. So id say it’s characters above creative team or publishers.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Ed Benes, Michael Turner and Jim Lee. Love everything they’ve ever done.
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
Batman #16 by Scott Snyder. Death of the Family is an amazing epic.
