Happy Thursday, comic fans! It’s time for a new Ten Tweets, this week featuring Russell Sellers (@Russell_Sellers). Check out this comic enthusiast’s answers when faced with the mighty Ten Tweets!
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
Spectacular Spider-Man #183 was my first at age 8. I read it so many times the cover fell off.
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Clark Kent and Peter Parker, but not their superhero identities. I related a lot to both of them growing up and wound up in journalism.
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
Green Lantern Rebirth. This was tough, but Rebirth is what made me a GL fan and I haven’t looked back since.
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
A combination of all 3, but mostly in print.
#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?
Probably Dead Body Road by Justin Jordan.
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
Current favorite writers are Geoff Johns, Scott Snyder and Dan Slott. I’m likely to check out anything they write.
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
I have Darwyn Cooke-autographed copies of The New Frontier Vol. 1-2. Vol. 1 has a Hal Jordan sketch he did on the cover.
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
I lean more toward specific writers. Any character an be made awesome if the writer has a good idea.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Current favorites are Jim Lee, Tony Daniel and Francis Manapul.
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
Dead Body Road #2. Love me a good revenge story and this one is shaping up nicely.
