This week Ten Tweets Thursday welcomes Scott Berry (@scottberry), a Green Lantern fan, and husband of Comicosity writer and Hangout co-host Alison Berry. Scott likes his music loud and some classic ring slingers, let’s see how he fared with the Ten Tweets.
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
I remember reading lots of comic strips in the newspaper, but a neighbor shared some X-Men after I mentioned loving the animated series
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Sinestro and The Joker (If I have to pick heroes, I’ll go with Hal Jordan and Guy Gardner)
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
Sinestro Corps Wars got me into comics, so it will always be special, but I love Warren Ellis’s Black Summer & Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
All 3. Get print every week, get trades of stuff I missed or know I’ll want to lend out, and my digital archive is great for travel
#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?
Not sure what qualifies as “obscure” – I read a ton of webcomics, does that count? Otherwise maybe Helheim by Cullen Bunn?
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
Current: Brian K Vaughan, Pete Tomasi, & Adam Beechen. All Time: Brian K Vaughan, Geoff Johns, & tie between Warren Ellis and Garth Ennis
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
I love toys! I have a Harley Quinn from the JLU line I bought at my 1st con and I have a Green Lantern shirt I’m collecting signatures on
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
Until recently, I was DC exclusive but the girls from The Hangout have really broadened my horizons a lot lately.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Ivan Reis, Ethan Van Sciver, and tie between Aaron Lopresti and Francis Manapul
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
Probably the first trade of Ex Machina or East of West #2 (on recomendation from @vagentlenerd)
