THE HONOR ROLL: August 19, 2015 Releases

The living is easy and the comics are plentiful these days so that’s probably why so many of our contributors slacked off this week and didn’t send anything in. Still, we have some amazing spoiler filled picks for you this week, so let’s get to it!

HIP HOP FAMILY TREE #1 – Kulbir Mann

Even though I am way behind the curve because I had never even heard of this book, I am still blown away at the level of detail and characterization. The first love of my life was hiphop and to see the history Ive studied in so much detail picturized is just incredible. Ed Piskor has devoted an incredible amount of attention to detail and this panel is by far my favorite as it represents the pure innocence of Run and the comic obsession of DMC. I need say no more….

About Me: I Spend the day as a surgeon operating on people, spend the night as a blogger operating on comics! Check out my blog or follow me @kooliebear

Michel Fiffe is finally unleashed on the Marvel Universe.  His dynamic art is perfect for this rooftop battle, but I chose this panel because Typhoid Mary is quoting Ice Cube.

About Me: Pete Buser is an enigma wrapped in a variant cover. Follow his mystery @petebuser

YOUNG TERRORISTS #1 – Tommy Zimmer

Black Mask does it again with the publication of this weeks 1st issue of “Young Terrorist.” Mike Pizzolo and Amancay Nahuelpans thunderous and anarchist call to arms.

About Me: I’m Tommy. I love comics. Enjoy every sandwich. Follow me @VictorVonZoom

RICK & MORTY #5 – Aaron Meyers

Who doesn’t love this show? Who doesn’t love this comic?

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy withAndrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next.
