THE HONOR ROLL: January 21, 2015 Releases

Why is it that some weeks feel like we have almost too many comics to pick from? This was one of those weeks. Enjoy these spoiler filled picks from our spoiler filled contributors!

RUMBLE #2 – Tom Barnett

I’m not quite sure what’s going on in Rumble, but I’m willing to have patience when there are panels like this!

About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10

LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #10 – Ken Godberson III

As someone who was a massive fan of Kieron Gillen’s Journey Into Mystery, let me vocalize what the fandom is going through: OhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNoOhNooooooo!!!!!!

About Me: When he is not working at a library or on his Master’s Degree, Ken Godberson III is usually writing comics, prose and screenplays. He tends to be an expert on absolutely nothing except on why

B.P.R.D. HELL ON EARTH #127 – Pete Buser

People were saddened when Mike Mignola and company killed off Roger the Homunculus.  The years passed without any sign of his return, but during that time a new character was introduced.  Agent Howards seemed like a run of the mill B.P.R.D. agent until he stumbled upon an ancient Hyperborean blade that made him something… else.  A silent badass from the past, here in all his monster killing glory thanks to James Harren.

About Me: Pete Buser is an enigma wrapped in a variant cover. Follow his mystery @petebuser

ELEKTRA #10 – Kulbir Mann

I remember when there were easier choices to make for this list and I could just choose a panel I really loved. But I was so engrossed by the scene above that I needed to make sure everyone else saw it. Blackman and Del Mundo have been performing amazingly and delving into the psyche of Elektra but there is nothing more devastating that confronting your own death, than confronting your own killer. The torment of Bullseye as he is threatened with losing his most cherished memory, one that resonates with so many Miller fans everywhere. Its touching, upsetting and poignant whichever way look at it.

About Me: I Spend the day as a surgeon operating on people, spend the night as a blogger operating on comics! Check out my blog or follow me @kooliebear

WILD BLUE YONDER #6 – Aaron Meyers

Great series with amazing kinetic art. A wild ride to the very end.

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week, stay tuned!
