It’s a wonderful week of wonderful comics with wonderful picks full of wonderful spoilers from our wonderful contributors. I hope you enjoy it! Let’s get to it!
BLACK SCIENCE #22 – Tom Barnett
Black Science keeps getting better each month. This panel perfectly captures Grant McKay, brilliant and incredibly flawed.
About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10
SUPERMAN #2 – James Kaplan
I’m really enjoying Superman so far in the Rebirth era. Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason are doing fantastic work on this book. This book portrays Superman as I know and love him; he’s wise and compassionate. Moreover, we get to see him and Lois as parents of Jonathan; this issue in particular really focuses on Superman and son learning and working together. The art from Patrick Gleason is wonderful; it’s stylized and full of life and personality. This is a Superman book worth getting excited about.
About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can. He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at panelpatter.com and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.
SUPERMAN #2 – Scott Keys
Superman #2 is absolutely perfect! The family dynamic of the “Smiths,” the action, writing, art, colors… literally EVERYTHING is perfect! And that last page…WOW!
About Me: Scott Keys is a father, Butler University grad, pharmacist, and full-time comic nerd. THROWAWAYS #1 – Pete Buser
Movies, books, comics. If they involve spies and espionage, I’m there. Caitlin Kittredge and Steven Sanders are doing it right.
About Me: Pete Buser is an enigma wrapped in a variant cover. Follow his mystery @petebuser
FLINTSTONES #1 – Aaron Meyers
Believe me, I didn’t expect to love this but I did. Great satire.
About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics
Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
