The faithful and agnostics amongst us can both agree that we are blessed each week by the Gods of Comics with great books to read. We have great spoiler filled picks from our contributors to check out from this week’s offerings, so let’s get to it!
JUSTICE LEAGUE #2 – Doug Zawisza
“Meanwhile, in the Hall of Justice. . .”
Man, that hits me right in the nostalgias.
About Me: I’m Doug. Father of three, husband of one, fan of all things good. I’m a regular contributor here on Comicosity and I dig a good roll call. Twitter: @DZawisza
AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #801 – Tom Barnett
I’m not sure if this was Dan Slott’s idea or Marcos Martin’s, but I love that they worked in a recreation of the iconic Amazing Fantasy 15 cover. Well played.
About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10
RUNAWAYS #10 – Kat!
I loved seeing all of Julie’s emotions coming to the surface, and that bra line made me laugh out loud.
About Me: I’m Kat! A YouTuber on Comic Uno and Comic Frontline, a podcaster on the Legends of Tomorrow Podcast and upcoming Titans Podcast, comic book editor on The Marvel Report, comic book critic on Newsarama, and writer/creator for comic book series Like Father, Like Daughter and They Call Her…The Dancer. DEADLY CLASS #35 – James Kaplan
This was a strong week of comics including some great debuts, but I want to highlight a book that has continued to deliver an amazing reading experience for 3-4 years now, which is Deadly Class. This was a powerful, eventful, brutal issue of the comic. Remender continues to tell a dark story of of revenge, consequences and suffering. And the art from Wes Craig and Jordan Boyd continues to get better and better. Craig really is a stunning visual storyteller. And this continues to be one of the very best books on the stands.
About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can. He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at panelpatter.com and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.
JUSTICE LEAGUE #2 – Scott Keys
This continues the amazing start from issue 1 and ups the ante… THE INVISIBLE EMOTIONAL SPECTRUM! Sinestro is back in his old duds and welding the power of Ultraviolet Ring! This book is both bonkers and breathtaking!
About Me: Scott Keys is a father, Butler University grad, pharmacist, and full-time comic nerd. You can follow his adventures around the spinner-rack and his Incoherent Comic Book Ramblings on: Twitter:
TONY STARK: IRON MAN #1 – Aaron Meyers
Fun restart to Tony!
About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics
Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
