THE HONOR ROLL: June 22, 2016 Releases

We had some scorching comics this week and some scorching great spoiler filled picks for you to check out. Let’s get to it!

DEPT. H #3 – Tom Barnett

This panel has so much power. Matt Kindt used 2/3 of the panel with the rushing water. The other 1/3 has our protagonists crushed to the wall. Great layout. Great detail. Oh an then there’s the colors! Geeze, Sharlene is amazing on the colors. Top quality comics here.

About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10

DEPT. H #3 – James Kaplan

This continues to be a really strong series. Matt and Sharlene Kindt are doing excellent work on this book. It feels tense and claustrophobic and it feels like you can’t trust anyone or anything. The Kindt’s artwork here is great, atmospheric, exaggerated and unsettling work. It’s a terrifically weird mystery.

About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can.  He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at panelpatter.com and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.

AQUAMAN #1 – Scott Keys

Really like the direction Aquaman is heading in, & Aquaman #1 was outstanding! Abnett’s story has an intriguing take, and Walker, Hennessy & Eltaeb’s art is stunning! The regal yet vicious Aquaman is one I’m ready to read more about!

THE WOLF #1 – Aaron Meyers

I don’t know what I read but I think I liked it!

4

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
