Pumpkins, Pie, Fires and Comics. It’s the season. It’s all we need! What we have this week is great spoiler filled pics for you to enjoy! Let’s get to it!
LOKI: AGENT OF ASGARD #7 – Ken Godberson III
DOOM PROVIDES ONLY THE FINEST OF ICE CREAM FLAVORS!
About Me: When he is not working at a library or on his Master’s Degree, Ken Godberson III is usually writing comics, prose and screenplays. He tends to be an expert on absolutely nothing except on why Impulse is the greatest superhero ever. He can be found on Twitter @kengodbersoniii or on Tumblr at http://kengodbersoniii.tumblr.com/
MS. MARVEL #9 – Jessica Boyd
Class nerfs are like game developers saying, “Time to learn how to play all over again!” Now, Kamala Khan is having to do just that. Thankfully she’s got Bruno on her side. As best friends they are adorable… Kamala’s mother fretting and fussing doesn’t hurt either.
It may have been awhile since I’ve leveled a character but this cultural gaming reference hit just the right spot for me. Kamala is a nerd, and she’s rather proud of it.
MS. MARVEL #9 – Pete Buser
In Kamala Khan, G. Willow Wilson has a created a fully realized character yet one whose depth continues to grow in each issue. I’m sure that Wilson wrote this issue prior to Gamergate, but it’s perfect timing and I suspect that Ms. Marvel shares Wilson’s views on the subject. She might even use her imbiggening powers to teach some men a lesson. Ms. Khan, the most exiting new Marvel character introduced in decades, is a teenage, Muslim girl who is also quite the gamer. I will even go so far to describe her as a Social Justice Warrior.
About Me: Mother. Comic reader. Jessica is a journalist turned teacher who spends her free time catching running noses and cleaning up messes. Main message: yes, even mothers read comics. @Charmingred on twitter.
About Me: Pete Buser is an enigma wrapped in a variant cover. Follow his mystery @petebuser
JUSTICE LEAGUE #35 – Scott Keys
Geoff Johns continues his stellar run on Justice League, and also shows how great he is on Batman! This scene where he one-ups Lex at a press conference was priceless!
About Me: Scott Keys is a father, Butler University grad, pharmacist, and full-time comic nerd. You can follow his adventures around the spinner-rack and his Incoherent Comic Book Ramblings on: Twitter: @Like_car_Keys / Tumblr: likecarkeys.tumblr.com / Facebook: Scott Keys (Likecarkeys) / Google+: Scott Keys
DEADLY CLASS #8 – Thomas Zimmer
Deadly Class no. 8 was my favorite comic this week. How could The violent origin story of Marcus not be? Remender•Craig•Loughridge did it again. Always great.
About Me: I’m Tommy. I love comics. Enjoy every sandwich. Follow me @VictorVonZoom
SUPERIOR FOES OF SPIDER-MAN #16 – Kulbir Mann
If this is really the end, then the quality of this comic should be shouted from the rooftops. Not only has Spencer created a hilarious bunch of idiot villains but Lieber has been spot on with his slapstick sequential artwork. Above is just one example of how he uses repetitive panels to produce subtle but meaningfully funny movements. This works even better when you know the characters involved and the failings of their villain schtick. The sinister six (but there are only five of us!) will be very much missed.
About Me: I Spend the day as a surgeon operating on people, spend the night as a blogger operating on comics! Check out my blog www.houseofflyingscalpels.com or follow me @kooliebear
AVENGERS WORLD #14– Aaron Meyers
The only Avengers book where The Master of Kung Fu fights a Giant Dragon. ‘Nuff Said.
About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics
Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week, stay tuned!
