You know a comic is great when it feels like ages since the last one came out, especially when that particular title is being released bi-monthly.

Harley Quinn issue #3 picks up where we left off, Poison Ivy pulling a deus ex machina and saving the day just when we thought it was hopeless for our beloved crew. The zombie theme is still very much the focal point here as it turns out Harley and pals aren’t quite as out of the woods as previously expected.

The “Red Tool” character seems to be getting his own sub-plot (Is it just me or does he seem to be inspired by a certain marvel character that’s extremely popular right now?….hmm…) and though it is only briefly set up, mark my words it’s going to be EPIC. And hilarious.

This issue is somewhat lighter on the plot than the previous two, but the characters are so well developed and the dialogue is so witty that it almost doesn’t matter. Palmiotti and Connor’s brilliant imagining of Harley Quinn is the much needed comedic relief of the comic book world.

The art this round was provided by Chad Hardin, John Timms and Alex Sinclair on colors. With a drastic change in location (and a new outfit for Harley! though this will surely be a one time appearance) we are provided with a whole new world for our visually stunning characters to come to life and be dazzled by the artists once more.

In this issue, we bear witness to some of the most elegantly drawn and most likely future iconic Harley/Ivy moments that will be utterly thrilling for fans of these badass babes. With such wild antics taking place in every issue, it takes real talent to portray these characters in such unique variety while staying on point with the story. To emphasize rather than distract, and those on team Harley continue to nail it every single time.

All in all, Harley Quinn is still going strong and only gaining in momentum. The mastermind team behind this title keeps pumping out literary gold and enriching the lives of all who get their hands on it.

The Verdict: 9.0/10
