#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?

Past the many Archie, Richie Rich, & Hot Stuff I read, my first superhero comic was JSA’s All-Star #71. Wildcat! Staton cover. Hooked!

#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?

Flash & Daredevil. Speed. Fearlessness & enhanced senses. What else do you need? Nexus comes in at #3, BTW – such a great concept.

#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?

I’ll have to go with the one that had the biggest impact on me in my youth, Daredevil Born Again. Miller-Mazzuchelli were quite the team.

#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?

Mainly print & trades a bit but my digital collections (yay Comixology!) are growing fast. In a few years, I can see going fully digital.

#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?

Does anyone read Matt Kindt’s spy book Mind Mgmt? Anyone should. Discovering many great indies digitally too: Monkeybrain’s line for e.g.

#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?

Alan Moore, Brian K Vaughan, & James Robinson. That third slot was tough! Kurt Busiek gets an honourable mention!

#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?

IDW’s Daredevil Born Again Artist edition. A thing of beauty. It’s like having the original art for the entire series.

#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?

Creative teams, of course. They’re the ones that give the characters soul. Give me a good story…no matter the publisher or character.

#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?

More cheating with my answers: All-Time – John Buscema, Don Newton, & Mike Wieringo. Current – JH Williams, Steve Rude, & Marcos Martin.

#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?

My all-time fave team – Legion of Super-Heroes, their zero issue. (JSA runner-up) Nice setup to future stories & great art by S Kolins.

#11 You are involved in the True Patriot project on Indiegogo: who is your character and what makes them a superhero?

Dominion Jack has “power of the people” (think Animal Man but w/ people) powers. A Canadian Uncle Sam able to borrow any skill/strength.
