Happy Fourth of July! This week’s Ten Tweets Thursday welcomes the writer of Comeback and the upcoming Sheltered, Ed Brisson (@edbrisson) to the hot seat! Check out what this writer and letterer had to say about the Ten Tweets (with a special bonus 11th tweet)!
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
Captain Canuck Summer Special #1, setting off a life long love of Captain Canuck.
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Probably Daredevil and The Punisher
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
Kraven’s Last Hunt is probably the book that’s had the most impact on me. That and Stray Bullets.
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
Digital for single issues and print for trade. Buy all my trades at my LCS.
#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?
Hmmm.Right now, maybe Theremin (Monkeybrain). Not really obscure, but maybe not something everyone’s aware of. It’s a great book.
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
Fiction: Elmore Leonard, Russel Banks, Jim Thompson. Comics: Jason Aaron, Ed Brubaker, Daniel Clowes
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
Not much of a collector, so can’t really say. Really big fan of omnibus collections of books though.
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
I tend to follow writers and a few artists.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Gipi, Jame Harren and Guy Davis.
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
Currently making my way through Saga Vol. 2. Last full comic was Lazarus #1.
#11 Your new series Sheltered is out next Wednesday – straight from the creator’s mouth, how would you describe it?
Amazing! A thrill ride! Or…teenaged doomsday preppers who’ll do anything to ensure their own survival. ANYTHING.
