Happy Thursday, comic book fans! It’s a new year and with that brings the return of Ten Tweets Thursday! Our first guest is Virgil artist JD Faith (@JDFaithcomics), check out what he had to say when faced with the mighty Ten!
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
Definitely wasn’t my first, but it was probably a Rob Liefeld Wolverine comic with a Deadpool fight in it. I liked it.
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Batman and Spider-Man. Not rocking any boats, I know.
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
All Star Superman. I need a humanist message in my superhero comics or it doesn’t really work.
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
Print mostly. Some digital, but print doesn’t let me check facebook.
#5 What is your favourite independent comic you feel everyone should be picking up?
Southern Bastards. But everybody is already reading that, right?
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
Grant Morrison, Osamu Tezuka, and Bryan Lee O’Malley
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
Recently got back into action figures after a decade of nervous abstinence. I can excuse them as being for drawing but mostly think they’re neat. I have a hot toys Tony Stark that I covet.
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
I follow creators — everybody swaps sides so much that publishers are a meaningless distinction in most cases.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Alex Toth, David Mazzuccheli, and Frank Quitely
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
I think it was vol 2 of Last Man. Maybe Mad Love? One of those!
