It’s time for another Ten Tweets Thursday, and this week features one third of The Hangout, Alison B. (@VaGentlenerd)! She’s a huge comics fan, let’s see what she had to say about the mighty Ten Tweets…
#1 What is the first comic you remember reading?
Either Disney Adventures or Calvin & Hobbes.
#2 You can only pick two: all time favorite comic book characters?
Alfred Pennyworth & Wonder Woman
#3 What is your favorite series arc, limited or mini-series of all time?
Tie between Nextwave: Agents of HATE by Warren Ellis and Pride of Baghdad by Brian K. Vaughn
#4 How do you read your comics? Print, digital, trades?
All 3, depending on the title. Some stories lend themselves better to trade, and I find trade & digital are great for catching up.
#5 What do you consider to be the most “obscure” title you read?
Telikos Protocol, by Peter Cooper & Adam Burn (& lettered by my dear friend Justin Korthof).
#6 You get to pick three: Favorite writers (current or of all time)?
All time? Gail Simone, John Ostrander, Garth Ennis. Right now? Gail Simone, Scott Snyder, Kieron Gillen.
#7 What is your favorite comic collector’s item?
My Justice League International #1 signed by Kevin Maguire. Hoping J.M. DeMatteis & Keith Giffen sign it in Baltimore this fall!
#8 As a reader do you tend to stick to a specific publisher, follow creative teams or follow characters?
Until 2012 I was DC-only but I’m branching out to Marvel, Image, BOOM, Dynamite. I do a combination of following creators & characters.
#9 You get to pick three (again): Favorite artists?
Francis Manapul, Terry & Rachel Dodson (they count as 1!), Cliff Chiang. Honorable mentions to Steve Dillon, Kevin Maguire, Colleen Doran
#10 What was the last comic you read before answering these questions?
Repossessed #3 by J.M. Ringuet
