THE HONOR ROLL: April 26, 2017 Releases

What an amazing week of comics. Do I say that every week? Well, I mean it! Look at all these great picks we have for you, full of spoilers! Let’s get to it!

X-O MANOWAR #2 – Tom Barnett

I’ve never really been much of a fan of X-O Manowar, but these first two issues have been fantastic. The artwork from Tomas Giorello is breathtaking! This panel is only half of a gorgeous two page spread, that breathes such life into the alien world it feels cinematic.

About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10

THE FLASH #21 – Scott Keys

I don’t know how it will end, but seeing Bruce and his dad together In Flash #21 was awesome! I hope we get to see more of the Flashpoint Batman after this story, and this moment alone was worth the cover price!

Scott Keys is a father, Butler University grad, pharmacist, and full-time comic nerd. You can follow his adventures around the spinner-rack and his Incoherent Comic Book Ramblings on: Twitter: @Like_car_Keys Tumblr:likecarkeys.tumblr.comInstagram: Like_car_Keys Facebook: Scott Keys (Likecarkeys) Google+: Scott Keys Pinterest: LikecarKeys

Supergirl Being Super is about an alien having to deal with the very human emotions of grief. Kara may not feel physical pain, but emotionally she knows exactly what it means to feel pain.

BATMAN/THE SHADOW #1 – Jill Pennington

Anyone who welcomes Bruce Wayne holding a glass of wine and a large wooden sword get my attention!

About Me: I’m Jill. I sell comics and books by day at Pieces & Pages and fill the rest of my time making my fiancé play boards games with me, reading and hugging my cats. If you’re nearby Livonia, MI stop into the store for a high-five or reach out online @PiecesAndPages.

The Black Monday Murders #5 – It’s back! How could I pick anything else.  The Black Monday Murders continues to be the most interesting, sinister, complex comic I’m reading. There’s just so much great high-level world building and intricate storytelling. Jonathan Hickman is really building something monumental. Tomm Coker on art and Michael Garland on colors continue to do remarkable, detailed, foreboding work, and the design and feel of the book continues to make it feel like a found artifact. You like smart, complex comics? You need to be reading this book.

About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can.  He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.

ALIENS: DEAD ORBIT #1 – Aaron Meyers

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
