THE HONOR ROLL: July 27, 2016 Releases

Is there ever a bad week for comics? I say no and this week doesn’t break the rule! We have some great spoiler filled picks for you to check out, so let’s get to it!

DIVINITY II #4 – Tom Barnett

This panel from issue 4 of Divinity II really summarizes the whole series. Such a sweet moment of friendship that could’ve easily been written as more slug fest and gritted teeth.

1

About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10

JUPITER’S LEGACY 2 #2 – James Kaplan

Jupiter’s Legacy 2 #2 – Some pretty crazy stuff happens this issue. I really enjoy this series and the fantastic art from Frank Quitely is a big part of that, with funny dialogue and an entertaining story from Mark Millar. Quitely so effectively conveys action and drama and has great touches of visual wit and humor. This is a fun, exciting and clever take on superheroes and I’m glad the main series is back.

About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can.  He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at panelpatter.com and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.

BATGIRL #1 – Scott Keys

Larson and Albuquerque’s Batgirl #1 was a fun change-of-pace! I like the setting and premise that is being set, and the art was kinetic and beautiful! I’m definitely on this road trip with Babs!

About Me: Scott Keys is a father, Butler University grad, pharmacist, and full-time comic nerd. CAPTAIN KID #1 – Aaron Meyers

A fun first issue with great art. Don’t fall behind on this!

4

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
