THE HONOR ROLL: November 23, 2016 Releases

It’s that time of year, everything is ending, celebrations and eating. Comics keep on keeping on. We have great spoiler filled picks for you this week, so let’s get to it!

HARROW COUNTY #18 – Tom Barnett

Normally, I’m not a big fan of fill in artist issues, especially on creator owned. However on this issue of Harrow County, Carla Speed McNeil wasted no time in giving us something special. This opening panel is just amazing, beautiful and magical. Bravo!

About Me: I’m Tom. Slightly addicted to comics, Doctor Who, Star Wars and Star Trek. I also try to spend some time behind the lens of my camera. Love Bronze Age comics and the Black Hole movie from Disney. Follow me @tphoto10

A.D. – AFTER DEATH: BOOK ONE – James Kaplan

This is one of the most ambitious, interesting comics I’ve read in a while. It’s a combination of traditional comic book, and prose text with accompanying illustrations. I don’t totally understand what’s going on, but that’s fine, as I completely trust the creators here. Scott Snyder writes some haunting, poetic prose, and Jeff Lemire is as good as ever with gorgeous, sad, watercolor illustration. I highly recommend this one.

About Me: James is a lawyer by day, and an avid reader of comics whenever he can.  He loves his family, friends, and getting all of them into comics. He writes longer comics reviews at panelpatter.com and is on Twitter @sinisterjhk.

ULTIMATES 2 #1 – Aaron Meyers

This series continues to be one of the best books Marvel is making right now.

About Me: Aaron Meyers loves reading comics, collecting comics and talking about comics. He’s grateful to share his love of comics with all of his friends on the Internet. From Twitter at @aaronmeyers, to his new podcast, Comics Therapy with Andrea Shockling, it’s all about the love of comics. He also loves his family, especially his wife, Chrissy Meyers. And while you were taking the time to read this, Aaron went and bought all the best issues from your store’s dollar bin. You lose, Aaron wins. #AllTheComics

Thanks as always for reading and sharing the most honored comics of the week with us. Same time next week!
